September 3rd Update

Dear Friend,

Labor Day is a federal holiday created to honor and recognize the American labor movement. I am a proud and active union member and have been for the last 49 years. I appreciate unions for their hard work advocating for workers' rights. In observance of Labor Day, the 38th Ward Office will close at 2pm on Friday, September 4th and will be closed on Monday, September 7th. We will reopen on Tuesday, September 8th at 9am.

Please note there will be a change in the refuse collection schedule. Black and blue carts will not be collected on Monday. Collection will resume Tuesday, September 8th. Please ensure all refuse carts are accessible throughout the week and not solely on the usual day of pick up until they are serviced. I hope you all enjoy the last few weeks of summer and have a relaxing Labor Day weekend!

RESCUE ME

Meet Adorable Damon...what a nice boy! He loves snacks, sits politely for them and is such a Mr. Manners, he even gives tours to our new volunteers!

He's sweet, silly, affectionate and all-around good guy. He's been waiting since July 23rd when he arrived as an eviction confiscate. We've gotten pretty attached to him and hope he gets the perfect home he deserves. To see Damon in action, click HERE.

For more information on Damon and the many other dogs waiting patiently to be rescued, click HERE or visit their Facebook page: CACC Adoptable Pets. To learn more about fostering, click HERE.
