Dear Chicago,

In observance of Labor Day, there will be NO garbage and recycling collection on Monday, September 7th. All city-collected garbage and recycling will be serviced starting Tuesday, September 8th. Residents should ensure all black and blue refuse carts are accessible throughout the week of collection, not solely on their regular day of collection. If your garbage or scheduled recycling has not been picked up, please email me at [email protected] or call the 19th Ward office at (773) 238-8766.

For more information, review the Zone 6 2026 recycling calendar.

Our office will be closed on Labor Day, Monday, September 7th. I hope all residents enjoy a happy and safe holiday.

Sincerely,

Matthew J. O'Shea
