Neighbors,
In moments when our community feels scared and unsettled, connection and care matters the most. Over the last few weeks, we’ve watched in horror as neighbors all across our beautiful city have been met with threats, violence, and separation from their families. We’re coming together this week for a community forum on Protecting Our Neighbors on Saturday, October 25, to share information, resources, and ways to keep all of us safe in the face of escalating U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) presence in our city.
During this meeting we’ll:
Connect neighbors with local rapid response networks, school patrols, and mutual aid networks.
Share updates on recent ICE activity in the city and in our ward.
Explore how we can collectively protect and support our immigrant neighbors.
Date: Saturday, October 25
Time: 11:00 AM – 1:00 PM
Location: Truman College (address), McKeon Lobby
If you plan to attend, please register here. Everyone must be registered for the event and registration will be capped at 250 people.
This event is about solidarity, safety, and care — making sure every neighbor knows where to turn and how to show up for one another. Please consider the heightened risks of attendance given the forum’s content if you are at risk from immigration enforcement.
If you’re part of a community organization, faith group, or block club, please share this invitation widely. Together, we truly do keep each other safe.
In Solidarity,
Alderwoman Angela Clay, 46th Ward
