Dear Chicago,



The funeral mass for fallen Chicago Firefighter/EMT Michael Altman will be on Friday, March 27th, 10:00am at Saint Rita of Cascia Shrine Chapel, located at 7740 S. Western Avenue. Immediately following the funeral mass, the procession will go to Holy Sepulchre Cemetery, located at 6001 W. 111th Street.


The funeral procession will take the following route:

  • Southbound on Western Avenue to 103rd Street
  • Westbound on 103rd Street to Kedzie Avenue
  • Southbound on Kedzie Avenue to 111th Street
  • Westbound on 111th Street to Holy Sepulchre Cemetery


Chicago Police have issued a traffic alert for the area. Motorists can expect rolling closures during the procession.


I am asking that the 19th Ward community line the streets along the procession route to honor our fallen hero. Please keep the Altman family and all of our first responders in your thoughts and prayers.


Parking Restrictions
Below are the parking restrictions for the funeral procession route on Friday, March 27th, from 10:00am until 2:00pm. Starting at 10:00am, they will tow any vehicle on the posted route.
