Email from 6th Ward Central

Dear Neighbors,

Today, as Walgreens closes its doors, I want to share an important step forward.

I have introduced legislation creating the Office of Pharmacy Access.

This is a new proposal that is currently in committee and beginning its legislative journey through City Council.

The goal is straightforward: to help address pharmacy deserts, improve access to medications and pharmacy services, and ensure communities like ours are not left behind when healthcare resources disappear.

There is still work ahead, and the proposal must move through the legislative process before becoming a reality. But every meaningful change starts with a first step, and I am committed to advancing this effort on behalf of every resident that is in need of access to medicine.

I look forward to keeping you updated as this legislation moves forward.

Warm regards,

Alderman William Hall
