Alderman Nicholas Sposato's 38th Ward Update

Nicholas Sposato Ward 38 ✉️ [email protected]
Relevance: 0/10

Summary

Alderman Nicholas Sposato (38th Ward) shared back-to-school information, including the Illinois State sales tax holiday (Aug. 7–16) and the first day back for Chicago Public Schools (Aug. 24). The newsletter otherwise focused on community items such as a food pantry donation option, a local restaurant grand opening, and job postings, with no mentions of zoning/development/housing/transit/budget hearings, policy changes, or street safety projects. It also promoted the “RESCUE ME” adoption feature for the shelter dog Napa.

August 6th Update

Dear Friend,

It is almost time for kids to go back to school. Make sure to get everything your student needs to prepare for a successful school year during the Back-to-School Illinois State Sales Tax Holiday. Starting tomorrow, August 7th through August 16th, the State’s portion of sales tax due throughout the holiday is reduced by 5 percent from 6.25 percent to 1.25 percent. For more information and a complete list of qualifying items, click HERE.

Chicago Public School students' first day back to school is Monday, August 24th. Catholic School students return the week of August 17th. I hope all of the students, teachers, and staff have an awesome 2026-27 school year!

Sincerely,

Napa is social, happy and young. She loves people and lights up the second she gets attention. Who could ask for more...please come and meet her! To see Napa in action, click HERE.
