REMINDER: Election Day
Dear Neighbors,

Election Day is officially here. All polling locations are open today, March 17, 2026, until 7:00 pm. As long as you are in line by 7:00 pm, you are able to cast your ballot.  If you requested a Vote by Mail ballot and you have not mailed it back yet, be sure to drop it off at the nearest Vote Center location. 

Below you will find information to ensure you can cast your vote in today's Midterm Primary. If you have questions, please contact the Chicago Board of Election Commissioners at 312-269-7900. Register to Vote, Change Your Registration Name, and Change Your Registration Address

Online voter registration for today's election is now closed. Voters may register at their Precinct Polling Place on Election Day: You must show two forms of ID. At least one ID must list your current address. You may also register at any of the 51 Early Voting sites open as Vote Centers on Election Day.

Please verify that your ID counts as an acceptable form of ID.

Voter Safety

No matter what, you have a right to:

  1. Cast your ballot without interference.
  2. Vote if you are in line by 7:00 p.m.
  3. Go to your home precinct and present IDs on election day to (a) register to vote or (b) update your registration, and then cast a ballot if you have not voted already at this election.
  4. Vote at your old polling place if you moved less than 31 days before the election.
  5. Get help voting from the election judges or from an eligible relative or friend.
  6. Use endorsements, sample ballots, or notes while voting.
  7. Protect the secrecy of your ballot.
  8. Check your ballot choices and correct any mistakes.
  9. Have your ballot counted fairly and impartially.
  10. Have your young child with you in the voting booth.
