January 22nd Update

Dear Friend,

Due to the extreme cold weather predicted for tomorrow, Friday, January 23rd, the 38th Ward Office will be closed. We will be checking voicemails and emails throughout the day. If you need immediate assistance, please call 311. I apologize for any inconvenience this closure may cause, however, the safety of my constituents and staff are of the utmost importance. It is strongly recommended to stay home during the extreme temperatures. Our office will reopen on Monday, January 26th at 9am.

COLD WEATHER TIPS

It is important during colder temperatures to take certain steps to protect the pipes in your home. Please take a moment to read the tips below from the City of Chicago Department of Water Management to prevent your pipes from freezing. Also, remember to check on your elderly neighbors and relatives. Taking precautions during winter months will help us get through the cold weather safely.

PET SAFETY

Please do not leave your pets outside for long periods of time, especially during the extremely cold weather that we have been experiencing. Pets are at risk for hypothermia and frostbite due to the colder temperatures. Make sure your pet has updated contact information on their collar. Keep an extra close watch on your pets in order to prevent them from getting lost as animal shelters are at full capacity.

Sincerely,
