ADL Midwest

There is NO space for extremist violence in politics. Whether it’s from the extreme left or the extreme right, we must condemn it through and through. I was proud to stand in solidarity with the ADL Midwest. We cannot allow this to go unchallenged. I urge all common-sense officials, community leaders, and people to stand up against hate and antisemitism.

Statement on Chicago Fire investing $650M

I was proud to see the announcement from Chicago Fire and owner Joe Mansueto announcing his $650M investment in the soccer stadium. This is the exact type of development that Chicago needs to encourage and support with our private partnerships.

As we welcome the summer season in Chicago, I want to take a moment to wish you and your families a joyful, safe, and memorable few months ahead.

From neighborhood festivals and outdoor concerts to block parties, family barbecues, and sunny afternoons in our beautiful parks. Summer is a time to reconnect with friends, explore new parts of our community, and make lasting memories.

My office is proud to support and promote many local events happening right here in the 36th Ward. Whether it’s a movie in the park, a community clean-up, or a cultural celebration, I encourage you to take full advantage of all that our neighborhoods have to offer.

As always, safety is a top priority. If you’re hosting a block party, need help connecting with city services, or want to know what’s happening near you, don’t hesitate to reach out to my office. We’re here to serve you and ensure your summer is filled with nothing but great experiences.

✍🏽 SKILLS-BASED HIRING PASSED CITY COUNCIL

Having passed City Council, the Department of Human Resources will now consider relevant work experience that is equivalent to a college degree when hiring for positions in city government.

- Our office works closely with the Chicago Police Department and the Cook County Sheriff's Office to respond to crimes and keep our residents safe.
- As a reminder, always CALL 911 whenever you see a crime or suspicious activity occurring. That is the only way for CPD to know when & where to target their responses.
