Email from 6th Ward Central

Dear Neighbor,

A healthy community starts with access to quality care and resources. For this week's Wellness Wednesday, I want to highlight an upcoming opportunity for families to access important health services, school readiness resources, and community support.

On Saturday, July 18th, from 9:00am - 4:00pm, Advocate Trinity Hospital (2320 E. 93rd Street) will host its annual Gym Shoe Ball & Community Health Fair, a day dedicated to promoting healthy families and stronger communities. There will also be a parade from 10:00 a.m. – 11:30 a.m.

Residents will have access to:

  • School physicals
  • Blood pressure screenings
  • CPR demonstrations and training
  • Community health resources
  • Healthcare career recruitment opportunities

Families are also invited to receive free backpacks and school supplies for students while supplies last.

Events like these help ensure our children are prepared for success, our families have access to important health services, and our community remains informed and connected.

I encourage residents throughout the 6th Ward to attend, take advantage of these resources, and support this effort to promote healthier outcomes for our neighborhoods.

6th Ward Forward. 6th Ward Together.
