Alderman Gardiner recently joined residents and staff from The Clarendale in support of the Walk to End Alzheimer's.
Each year, communities across the United States come together to raise awareness and funds for Alzheimer's care, support services, and research. With more than 600 walks held nationwide, events help advance efforts to support individuals and families affected by Alzheimer's disease while working toward a future without it.

A true Jefferson Park community treasure, Chicago Canine Rescue (CCR) has been changing lives of homeless dogs and the families who adopt them since 2001. As a no-kill, nonprofit rescue, Chicago Canine Rescue has helped more than 8,000 dogs and puppies find loving forever homes. Dogs arrive at CCR from open-intake shelters, rural rescue partners, and families facing difficult circumstances. Each dog receives medical care, behavioral support, and plenty of compassion while they wait for a second chance. The organization thrives because of the generosity of the community. Whether you're adopting, fostering, volunteering or donating, every act of kindness helps give a deserving dog a brighter future. Chicago Canine Rescue welcomes walk-in adoption Thursday through Sunday, noon to 6:00 p.m. Appointments are available Monday through Wednesday. If you're looking to add a four-legged friend to your family or want to support a wonderful local organization, CCR is a great place to start.
