On Friday, Dec. 8 the 36th Ward offices will be closed for Staff Appreciation Day, and a jacket giveaway will be held at the Ukrainian Cultural Center that morning. The Shared Cost Sidewalk Program will reopen for new applications on Jan. 8, 2024 via the City’s 311 system, while the Chicago Police Department’s CAPS Beat Meetings for districts 025, 016, and 012 are scheduled for 2023. Additional updates include a Veterans Affairs hiring announcement, a Cook County rain‑barrel subsidy program, and a monthly free Cats‑in‑Action workshop on the 4th Sunday of each month.

Dear 36th Ward Neighbors,

As we enter the holiday season, it's the perfect time to reflect on our blessings and seek out ways to make life better for those around us. We wish you peace and joy this holiday season and throughout the coming year. 

This Friday, Dec. 8th, our offices will be closed for Staff Appreciation Day. 

Also Friday, Dec. 8th, there will be a jacket giveaway at the Ukrainian Cultural Center at 10 am until supplies last. 
 
The 2024 Shared Cost Sidewalk Program will be open for new applications ONLY on January 8th, 2024, from 6 am-10 pm. Applications will only be accepted through the City's 311 system by calling 311, through the City's service request website https://311.chicago.gov, or through the free CHI311 mobile app on iOS Apple, and Android. Applications will be taken on a first-come, first-served basis. The number of participants is based on the availability of funds. Applicants will be notified by the City if they have been included in the 2024 Shared Cost Sidewalk Program. 

Below are the Chicago Police Department CAPS Beat Meetings schedules for 2023 for the 025th,016th, and 012th Districts. We encourage you to attend your beat meetings and get to know your CAPS and DCO officers as a great way to be involved in your community. 
 
Have you visited our satellite office? In addition to our Ward Office, located in the Bricktown Shopping Center, our Satellite Office is located at 2246 W. Chicago Ave & is open Monday through Friday, from 9:00 am-5:00 pm. Our Ward Office is open Monday through Friday, 9:00 am -5:00 pm. Both locations are closed for lunch from 12:45 to 1:30 p.m.

RainBarrel.ca and RainBarrelFundraising.com are pleased to supply rain barrels and accessories to residents of Cook County through the Metropolitan Water Reclamation District of Greater Chicago. Contact [email protected] for product specific questions.

The District’s rain barrel program promotes local green infrastructure to capture rainwater from roofs and save it for later use, such as watering gardens and flowers. In order to promote the use of rain barrels, the District has partnered with us to provide low-cost rain barrels to Cook County residents.

Free shipping is included for barrels and any accessories ordered with them. Each rain barrel includes a 2 ft. flexible downspout pipe. Delivery may take up to 30 days. There is a limit of 2 subsidized barrels per household, no limits on the number of unsubsidized barrels.
