Summary

In Ald. Byron Sigcho-Lopez’s 25th Ward newsletter, the featured June items are community-facing: a June 2 community meeting, a June 3 job fair, a June 6 public health summit, and a June 18 blood drive, plus a June 27 community cleanup at Dvorak Park. The only major public-project items listed are a June 10 public meeting on the BNSF right-of-way improvement project and a set of 2027 budget engagement roundtables (June 3, 6, 16, and 24). Other major announcements include the annual constituent museum admission card (available at the office), and an alert about increased thefts targeting Honda and Acura vehicles with recommended anti-theft precautions.

25th Ward Office: June 2026 | Junio 2026

Dear Neighbors,

As we welcome June and the start of summer, we look forward to the many opportunities this season brings to gather, celebrate, and strengthen our community. This month, we recognize Pride Month and honor the contributions, resilience, and diversity of our LGBTQ+ neighbors. June also marks several important observances, including Juneteenth, a time to reflect on the ongoing pursuit of freedom, equity, and justice, as well as Immigrant Heritage Month, which celebrates the rich cultures and experiences that continue to shape our neighborhoods.

With longer days and warmer weather ahead, our communities come alive with festivals, resource fairs, educational workshops, and family-friendly activities. Whether you're looking to connect with neighbors, access local resources, support small businesses, or enjoy one of the many events happening across the ward, there are plenty of ways to get involved this month.

Below, you'll find a brief list of upcoming events, programs, and opportunities taking place throughout June. Event flyers and our June calendar can be found at continuation of this letter. We hope to see you out in the community and encourage you to share these resources with friends, family, and neighbors.

Ald. Byron Sigcho-Lopez

Estimados vecinos,

Community Public Safety Alert
Alerta de seguridad pública comunitaria

We have seen a noticeable increase in thefts involving Honda and Acura vehicles. Offenders are specifically targeting these makes due to known vulnerabilities, and in many cases, the vehicles are taken quickly and without much noise or attention.

We strongly encourage residents and business owners to take the following precautions:

  • Utilize steering wheel locks or other visible anti-theft devices
  • Park in well-lit areas whenever possible
  • Ensure vehicles are locked at all times
  • Avoid leaving keys or key fobs inside vehicles
  • Inquire about a GPS system from the Manufacture
