MESSAGE FROM ALDERMAN JIM GARDINER | | |
The Shannon Rovers Irish Pipe Band celebrate their 100-year anniversary tonight at Soldier Field which will surely be one night to remember.
Our community is filled with interesting and motivated individuals who make Chicago feel like home.
Noreen and Danny Boyle are lifelong Chicagoans who have built a life together while raising their family right here in Jefferson Park.
Their interest and love for Irish culture and Irish music is what enabled them to
meet, stay married, and raise a beautiful family right here in Jefferson Park.
Congratulations to members of the Rovers, both past and present, and all who celebrate and honor the richness of being Irish.
| | |
Proudly Serving,
Alderman Jim Gardiner

This past weekend, I had the honor of celebrating our nation’s 250th anniversary with Wayne Schimpff, an Edgebrook resident since 1941, who has dedicated more than 78 years of service to the Boy Scouts of America.
Wayne joined the Boy Scouts in 1948, largely inspired by his father, who began serving with the Scouts in 1916.
The 45th Ward has a plethora of individuals who have proudly served our country in various capacities, including members of the United States military, first responders, and Boy Scouts.
The United States of America is made stronger by individuals like Wayne Schimpff and other Scouts who take an oath to serve God and our country, obey Scout Law, help others at all times, and maintain physical strength, mental alertness, and strong morals.
