April 2nd Update

Street sweeping began on April 1st and runs through mid-November. Chicago utilizes mechanical street sweepers to remove debris and litter from streets. Bright orange temporary parking restrictions are posted the day before sweeping service is scheduled to ensure curb-to-curb cleaning. 

To avoid a ticket and to allow street sweepers to thoroughly clean streets please pay close attention for the sign posted on side streets or main streets. If you would like to look ahead at the scheduled street sweeping schedule for the entire 2026 season, click HERE. In addition, there will be a street sweeping section in our e-blasts every week with upcoming sweeps listed.

The 38th Ward Public Service Office will close at 3:00pm on Friday, April 3rd. I wish you a very Happy Easter and a Happy Spring!

Meet Elio! Elio came to the shelter shy and unsure after being surrendered. He has been making great progress; learning good manners, walking nicely on leash and zooming around the yard when the mood strikes!
