Dear Chicago,



On Wednesday, June 24th, at approximately 5:00pm, there was an altercation between two individuals at the intersection of 111th Street and Kedzie Avenue. The offender produced a knife, slashed the hand of the victim, and fled on foot. The victim was treated and released from a local hospital.


The following day, Thursday, June 25th at approximately 8:00pm, a person of interest was taken into custody by a 22nd District tactical team without incident. I would like to commend the neighbors who provided video footage and information to assist in this ongoing investigation.


I would also like to thank the Chicago Police Department (22nd District & Area 2 Detective Division) as well as the Merrionette Park Police Department for their ongoing efforts to protect our community.
