Dear Neighbors,
The Pride Parade will kickoff at 11am on Sunday, June 28th at the corner of Grace & Broadway. The parade will then continue south along Broadway, then Halsted, east along Belmont to Broadway, then south to Diversey. For additional information on the parade route, viewing areas, crossing points, and more, please visit the Pride Chicago website here. You can view a list of street closures and CTA reroutes on my website here.

In preparation for the festivities this weekend, I was proud to stand with CPD Chief Novalez at a press conference yesterday to highlight the collaboration between City departments, parade organizers, and local community groups. I'm grateful to all of the CPD personnel working long hours this weekend to keep our community safe before, during, and after the parade. Our top priority is creating an environment where everyone can celebrate freely.
The Pride Parade is a time to celebrate our LGBTQ+ community, but we understand that the hours following the parade have been challenging in past years. To help address this, my office has been working with CPD to map previous years’ incidents and to adjust the overnight placement of barricades and officers. Illegal behavior will not be tolerated. If you see troublesome behavior, please call 911 so our CPD officers can respond.
We want everyone to enjoy themselves this weekend, but nothing is more important than the safety of parade participants, attendees, and residents. My team and I will be out at 5:00am Monday morning alongside Streets and Sanitation to help clean up our neighborhood for the week ahead.

As we did last year, we have created a survey for residents to share their experiences with both the parade itself and the period afterwards. We’re committed to learning from this year's experience and improving planning and safety for future years. Your input is invaluable in that process. Your insights will help inform our planning with CPD, parade organizers, and City departments to ensure that future Pride celebrations remain safe, joyful, and respectful for everyone. You can fill out the survey here.
Together, with my colleagues from the 46th and 43rd Wards, CPD, OEMC, Fire, Buildings, Public Health, CTA, Business Affairs, Finance, CDOT, and Streets and Sanitation, I believe we are ready for another amazing Pride weekend. See you all on Sunday, and happy Pride!
