Recycling services (Department of Streets and Sanitation Zones 2 and 4, LRS Service Areas 1, 3, 5, 6, and private providers) will continue Monday‑Friday, and the office will reopen Tuesday, January 20 at 9:00 a.m.

In observance of the great Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., the 16th Ward Service Office will be closed today Monday, January 19, 2026. The office will reopen on Tuesday, January 20 at 9:00am.

Please note that there will be NO refuse/trash collection on Monday, January 19, 2026. All city-collected refuse/trash will be serviced Tuesday through Friday. Residents should ensure all black refuse carts are accessible throughout the week of collection, not solely on their regular day of collection.

 

  1. The Department of Streets and Sanitation (Zones 2 and 4) will collect recycling Tuesday through Friday.  Residents should ensure all Blue Recycling Carts are accessible throughout the week of collection.
  2. Privately provided Blue Recycling Cart Service will be collected without interruption Monday through Friday.  There will be recycling cart service collection on Monday, January 19, 2026.  Residents with private service should continue to put out blue recycling carts throughout the week, according to their scheduled day of service.
  • LRS (Service Areas 1,3,5 and 6) will collect recycling services as scheduled Monday through Friday.
