Dear Neighbor,


Due to extreme weather conditions, the 6th Ward Office will be closed on Friday, January 23rd. The office will reopen on Monday, January 26th at 10:00 a.m.

We encourage everyone to stay indoors if possible, limit time outside, and dress in multiple warm layers if you must go out. Also, remember to check on elderly and vulnerable neighbors.


The city has many warming centers open during the winter to help residents stay safe. These include Community Service Centers and Senior Centers during regular hours, in addition to Chicago Public Library branches, Park District facilities, City Colleges, and all Chicago Police District stations, which are open 24 hours a day.
