Ronnie Mosley Ward 21
Relevance: 0/10

Summary

Alderman Ronnie L. Mosley (21st Ward) shared a storm recovery update following two severe storms, noting that ComEd has restored power for 89.1% of impacted customers (17,666 restored; 2,169 still without power) and that all senior residential buildings in the ward had power restored as of Friday night while 25 crews continue work. Other announcements include reminders to document outage-related losses for potential ComEd claims and to check on seniors and vulnerable neighbors.

Email from Office of Alderman Ronnie L. Mosley, 21st Ward Alderman

21st Ward Family,

After being among the areas hardest hit by two severe storms in less than 48 hours, recovery efforts continue throughout the 21st Ward.

Friday, I joined Mayor Brandon Johnson and City department leadership as they surveyed storm damage throughout our community and assessed ongoing recovery needs. We continue to advocate for the resources necessary to restore services and address storm-related impacts across our neighborhoods.

Latest ComEd figures show (6/13):

  • 17,666 customers restored
  • 2,169 customers remain without power
  • 89.1% of impacted customers have now had service restored
  • All senior residential buildings in the 21st Ward had power restored as of Friday night
  • 25 crews continue working on remaining outages

In addition to power restoration, City crews continue clearing debris, removing hazardous trees, reopening blocked streets and alleys, and addressing traffic signal outages and other storm-related concerns.

If you remain without power:

  • Text OUT to 26633 to report your outage
  • Stay away from downed wires
  • Report storm-related issues through 311
  • Check on seniors, neighbors, and vulnerable residents

Residents who experienced food spoilage, appliance damage, or other outage-related losses should document damages with photos and receipts and may submit a claim directly to ComEd.

Thank you to the utility crews, first responders, Streets and Sanitation, Forestry, OEMC, and all City employees who have worked tirelessly to support our residents.

We will continue working until recovery efforts are complete.

– Alderman Ronnie L. Mosley, 21st Ward
