Relevance: 0/10

Summary

Alderman Jason C. Ervin (28th Ward) shared information from the City’s Office of Emergency Management & Communications encouraging residents to complete a voluntary Residential Self-Assessment survey via text if they contacted 3-1-1 about storm damage from June 10–11; the city says it is not a scam and uses the data to help pursue potential additional assistance. No zoning, development, housing, transit, budget, or street policy/approval items were included in this newsletter. The message primarily focuses on storm damage reporting and survey completion.

Storm Damage Residential Self Assessment Surveys Text Messages from 3-1-1

The City of Chicago's Office of Emergency Management & Communications is reviewing calls for service into 3-1-1 from recent storms that occurred on June 10 and June 11. Residents contacting 3-1-1 to report damage will receive or have received a text message to complete a Residential Self-Assessment regarding storm damage voluntarily. This is not a scam or a phishing attempt.

This supplemental information will help determine whether the City, along with our partners at Cook County and the State, can pursue any options for additional assistance for residents.
