Summary

Alderman William Hall of the 6th Ward announces a community‑wide meeting on March 16 to discuss the 2026 participatory budgeting menu, CDOT updates, and unresolved streets and sanitation issues. The meeting will also cover 79th Street small‑business development and the Spend in the Black 2026 initiative to support Black‑owned businesses. A power outage will keep the office closed until 10 p.m. today, so residents are encouraged to follow up once services resume.

Email from 6th Ward Central

Dear Neighbor,

Due to a power outage affecting the area, our office is currently experiencing interruptions to phone and building services. According to ComEd, power restoration is not expected until approximately 10:00 PM this evening.

As a result, the office will be closed for the remainder of the day. We apologize for any inconvenience and appreciate your patience.

Attached is the flyer for our upcoming 6th Ward Community Wide Meeting, where residents are invited to come together to discuss important updates, neighborhood priorities, and opportunities impacting our community.

During the meeting, residents will hear a presentation from CDOT, share suggestions for the 2026 participatory budgeting menu, and discuss unresolved streets and sanitation concerns from 2025. We will also provide updates on 79th Street small business development and begin conversations around Spend in the Black 2026, an initiative focused on supporting Black-owned businesses and strengthening our local neighborhood economy.

If you have urgent matters, please follow up with the office once services have been restored.

Thank you.

Warm regards,

Alderman William Hall
