Hello 21st Ward Family!
Bear Down! What an exciting start for our Chicago Bears, putting up 59 points this past weekend. Football season is officially underway, and the energy across Chicago is already building.
We also welcomed the Chicago Football Classic back to our city, and Chicago State University celebrated the first victory of its inaugural football season. Congratulations to the Cougars!
| | | | |
We have a full weekend of community events ahead in the 21st Ward!
Start your Saturday with our Community Shredding Event from 9:00 a.m. to noon in the parking lot of Christ Universal Temple, 11901 S. Ashland Ave. Bring your old records, junk mail, receipts and legal documents for safe and secure disposal.
| | |
Afterward, join us from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. for the grand opening of the Red Line Extension Community Office and a Community Block Club Party. This is a great opportunity to learn about the progress of the Red Line Extension—the largest infrastructure project in CTA history—and what it means for the Far South Side.
Please note that our End of the Summer House Bang and Bears Tailgate, originally scheduled for Sunday, September 20, has been postponed until Sunday, October 4. We look forward to gathering at Oakdale Park for a great day of music, football, food and community. Stay tuned for additional details!
| | |
I hope to see you this weekend. Stay safe, stay connected and remember that our office is always here and ready to serve you.
We are Better Together.
— Alderman Ronnie L. Mosley
