Thank you to everyone who joined us for brunch on Saturday morning. It was a beautiful day, with beautiful food and beautiful people.
This was an important fundraiser to kick off my re-election campaign – February 2027 is only eight months away. Your contributions help raise the funds I need to support my campaign and are crucial to help fund 49th Ward cultural events, festivals, and essential services this summer. Without your attendance and contributions, these community programs and services would not be possible.
The world is a scarier place every day. When I first ran for this office, I sought your support because I knew it would take all of us, at the local level of government and in our neighborhoods, to protect each other by creating and designing new systems. We need systems that free us from oppression, and I'm proud to say we're living and designing them in real time in our Rogers Park community.
Running for office and staying in office are not solo activities. Saturday's brunch would not have been possible without our generous volunteers and community partners. With petition season kicking off at the end of July, we will need more volunteers to help us capture signatures to get my name on next year's ballot. If you'd like to become part of our team of volunteers, even if you only have a single afternoon available to work with us, fill out our volunteer form here.
Thank you again for your commitment to the 49th Ward Community and your belief in me as your representative on Chicago's City Council.
Alderwoman Maria Hadden
