Email from 6th Ward Central

Dear 6th Ward Neighbors,

This Sunday, we will gather for a powerful and historic History & HerStory Conversation with retired U.S. Senator Carol Moseley Braun and retired U.S. Senator Roland Burris at St. James Community Church, and I hope you will join us.

We are honored to welcome two trailblazers who both grew up right here in our community.

From the 6th Ward to national leadership, their journeys remind us that greatness can rise from right here at home. This fireside chat will be an opportunity to reflect on leadership, legacy, faith, and the future we are building together.

This will be a meaningful, intergenerational conversation, one rooted in history, but focused on what comes next.

As we continue celebrating 100 years of Black History Month, let us come together to honor those who paved the way and recommit ourselves to carrying that legacy forward.

Bring your family. Bring a neighbor. Bring your voice.

I look forward to seeing you there.
